Mentoring for business owners

Picture
 I just need some advice!

Typically, business owners I speak with are looking for help in the following areas:
  1. How do I move my business on to the next stage?
  2. I need help putting together a business plan/ marketing strategy.
  3. How do I grow my business?
  4. I seem to be spending lots of time ‘chasing my tail’ and not making any headway.
  5. I feel I may be missing something (‘miss the wood for the trees’).
  6. I’m not sure who to ask for help!

Why mentoring?

Talking with a mentor allows you as the business owner to:
  1. Tap into someone else’s business experience and learn from someone else's mistakes and successes
  2. Talk to someone who is not connected with your business who will provide unbiased feedback, support and direction.
  3. Provides you with someone to bounce ideas, problems and opportunties off.
  4. Have a fresh pair of eyes to look at the business
  5. Have a confidential discussion away from the business.
  6. Receive encouragement - being in business can be a lonely experience.
  7. Talk with someone who is approachable, friendly, a good listener, can consider new approaches and is non-judgemental.
  8. Its a very cost effective and affordable approach. Hiring a specialist consultant can easily require a 5 figure investment to cover their time and input. No course fees, no hourly rates, just a charge per session.

Whats Involved?
  1. Mentoring sessions are best done off-site away from work place distractions.
  2. Sessions can be done in person or via zoom
  3. Frequency of mentoring sessions is dependent on the urgency of the scenarios being discussed and the amount of time required to implement changes prior to the next session.
  4. Sessions typically last from 45- 75 minutes.
  5. A sessions comprises of discussing topics that are important to you - opportunities, issues, etc.
  6. There will usually be business related activities for you to pursue and prepare between sessions for further discussion.
  7. The number of sessions required varies dependending on complexity, size of the business and the amount of support required. The average number of sessions per business is 4.

Why Martin?

Over the past 11 years I have mentored more than 700 business owners across Victoria & NSW. These range from startups to established businesses who need direction and useable business & marketing strategies.

What I like most about this approach is that it allows you, the business owner to develop, question and understand the right approach for your business. Each consultation I have is tailored toward you, the client. I don't believe in a a 'one size fits all' methodology, each business is different and the solution needs to be personalised because it makes it easier for you to implement the strategy moving forward.
